Cincinnati patio homes offer owners the opportunity to live a turnkey life! With the lawn taken care of, you can lock up and head off on vacation without worrying about your home while you're gone.
But in general what they're not is truly maintenance free. With the exception of a few communities, YOU own the home and all that comes with that. However, they are made to be low maintenance thanks to their construction.
Most newer patio homes offer the dimensional shingle roofs, so you shouldn't need a new roof until Year 20 or later.
The exterior of a patio home typically features a minimum of paintable surfaces, with stone veneers, brick, cement board or vinyl siding comprising the walls. Depending on the home, their may be no paintable surfaces, or just slight paintable areas (e.g. the entry door).
If you have a deck, you can expect to need them stained every few years, and as needed the occasional deckboard replaced.
Outside lights burn out? That's on you.
If the windows break, that's your responsibility too.
This arrangement of responsibilities generally keeps the HOA fees reasonable.
If you want a community that covers ALL exterior maintenance, then expect a significantly higher HOA fee since the community's upkeep is more expensive.
